Olivia was born in England to English/Australian parents and raised between Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, and Perth, Australia. Art and textiles were always her most loved subjects at school and college, however, travel was more inspiring than further education at that time.
In 2005, after a year of travel, Olivia moved permanently from England to Sydney. In 2007, she pursued her passion for design and studied Interior Styling at the International School of Colour and Design in North Sydney. Through the course, she discovered Surface Pattern Design and was a finalist for the Designer Rugs Competition with her design 'Branching Out'.
It wasn't until 2019, after healing from a traumatic divorce in 2015, and rebuilding her best life as a single mother to her young daughter, that she started to pursue painting again.
Living close to the ocean on Sydney's Northern Beaches provides constant soul food and inspiration. Her love of nature is evident in her colourful, impressionistic landscapes and semi-abstract botanicals. She explores vibrant colour palettes and plays with pattern, inspired by textiles and surface pattern design, interior design or nature itself. She works in acrylic and mixed media and occasionally delves into the fluidity of watercolour.
