How beautiful are a bunch of poppies? The values of reds in this cut selection paired perfectly with the red pink of strawberries - a match for this still life! Atop some of my favourite art books and an array of bottles the poppies continue to be the centre of attention. This piece would look wonderful anywhere that needs a little pop of colour but still gives a view of serenity and calm.
Protected with Gamblin gloss varnish this piece comes already professionally framed in Oak, ready to hang as soon it is unwrapped!

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
Amanda Ogilby is an emerging artist who works primarily in oils, painting fulltime in her home studio overlooking the bush, in Margaret River, Western Australia.
Amanda delights in the texture of oil paint and her ability to manipulate layers of colour in her art. Upon close inspection, textured brush marks give her a visual presence in the work. Often painting from a variety of perspectives, she relishes this medium's qualities, slowly building up tone and form of the objects in her compositions. Through close observation, Amanda focuses on light, reflection and shadow and how they intermingle with objects and botanical influences.
Amanda's art is in response to her immediate surroundings and home. She seeks and finds inspiration from personal treasures, objects old and new. Those often considered mundane and overlooked by the casual glance, however, each with stories and reminders of precious memories. The final composition often depicted with floral elements which strive to depict a sense of serenity and peace.
