Painted on the night David Bowie died, being a huge fan, I wanted to try and capture his spirit. in the middle of the piece David is floating amongst a galaxy holding the Black star book in his left hand, and pointing upward with his right hand, summoning the stars of the Black star album. He is wearing the "Life on Mars?" suit and is in the earthlings tour pose. His hair is from ' the man who fell to earth' period, his face is of earthing era but with the classic Aladdin Sane makeup. To his left is the Lets Dance album dance steps made into a star constellation, above that is 'Jareth the goblin king' (played by Bowie) from the film 'The Labyrinth' in owl form. above David is the actual Black star from the Black star official video, and next to that is Mars in the form of Major Toms Skull ( Space Oddity reference ), if you look closely there are spiders coming from the eye sockets of Mars ( ziggy stardust reference ) and below that are some more planets.

Artist Bio
Alice Mayqueen is a prodigal photo realistic artist who is making her mark on the global art scene of today. Influenced by prolific artists such as Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol , her pieces incorporate a unique and stylistic approach to every artwork she creates. Her original pieces emerge from her sub conscious, a truly fascinating, mystifying place where frightening and beautiful live hand in hand. Alice's eccentric lifestyle revolves around the curious and bizarre and this Is more than evident in several of her masterpieces; that have been displayed in magazines around Australia.
Her favourite topics include musical figures like David Bowie, Prince, Nick Cave and any of the classic rock bands before her time. Her photorealistic skills are second to none, leaving most of her clients breathless upon viewing a portrait tailored personally for them (swearing that the art work is a print!)
